How to: Run ScanDisk.
Solution:
Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu and select 'Programs', 'Accessories', 'System Tools' and select 'ScanDisk'.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs' and select 'Accessories'.

3) Select 'System Tools' and select 'ScanDisk'. (The 'ScanDisk' dialog box appears.)

4) Select the drives to check for errors from the drive list.

5) Select one of the following radio buttons from the 'Type of test' group:
a) Select 'Standard' to check only files and folders for errors.

b) Select 'Thorough' to check the files and folders for errors as well as check the disk surface for errors.

NOTE: Surface testing requires a longer period of time to run ScanDisk.
6) (Optional) Select 'Automatically fix errors' check box.

7) Click 'Start'. (A 'Results' window appears when complete.)
8) Click 'Close' to close the 'Results' window.
9) Click 'Close' to close ScanDisk.
